This work will ask everything of you.
To walk with women through birth… through thresholds… through moments that change them forever—
you become the steady one. The witness. The anchor.
But who holds you?
At The ForRest, this space exists for the ones who hold others.
With over 20 years walking alongside women in birth and transitional spaces, years devoted to tending sacred fires in ceremony, and training rooted in traditional womb care with the Quechua Grandmothers of Peru and midwifery apprenticeship with Kichwa curanderas in Ecuador—this work is built on lived experience, not theory.
This is a place where your own process matters.
Where your questions, your growth, your edges, and your becoming are welcomed.
You are not just supporting births.
You are holding transformation.
And to do that well—you must also be resourced, witnessed, and supported.
This space offers two ways to return to yourself:
Rekindling community fires & Embers personal Mentorship
If you feel the pull but are unsure where to begin, you’re welcome to reach out.
We can find the right starting place together.

Women's spaces tending those who tend others
These gatherings are anchored in women belonging to kinships and to themselves. A place to be held in the same gift you give the world. A space for physical nurturing, emotional integration, and spiritual care.
These monthly Community Fires are a place to gather, to remember, to speak what is real, and to be witnessed.
Fire clears.
Fire strengthens.
Fire brings us back to ourselves.
This is a circle of birthworkers who understand the depth, the responsibility, and the quiet beauty of this work.

For the quiet fire that keeps you going.
Not the outward flame—the one the world sees.
But the steady heat underneath.
The part of you that holds space for others… and still needs tending.
Embers is a 1:1 mentorship space for doulas and birthworkers at all stages of their path.
For seasoned birthworkers…
This is a place to be deeply supported in the layers that often go unseen.
We work with:
So that what you hold does not harden…
and your capacity continues to expand without depletion.
For new doulas…
This is a place to be walked with as you find your way.
To discover your own rhythm, your voice, and your way of holding.
To have someone you trust on call to support you as you begin attending births—
someone to reach out to before, during, and after, as you navigate your first experiences.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
You get to be held as you learn how to hold others.
This work is not meant to be done in isolation.
Whether you are just beginning or many years in—
there is always another layer of tending, of listening, of becoming.
