Welcome to the Motherwort Doulas

Green plant with clustered white flowers.

The Essence of Motherwort as a Doula

She is a wise, nurturing woman, deeply connected to the rhythms of life and cycles of the body, offering invaluable birth support services. There is an ancient calmness about her—like a quiet forest midwife or a healer passed down through generations, specializing in holistic doula care.

Her presence feels grounding and protective; a gentle force you can rely on through both storm and calm. She carries strength wrapped in softness – a steadfast protector of hearts and wombs, someone who listens deeply and holds space without judgment. Having been through challenges herself, her empathy runs deep, yet she never loses her resilience.

Her voice is soothing but sure, filled with knowledge of plants, traditions, birth, and women's health services, as well as feminine mysteries. She is the kind of woman who lights a candle in the dark, whispers ancient prayers, and comforts with both warmth and quiet power.

You feel safe with her, like coming home after a long journey. She reminds you that your body is sacred and wise, and that healing is a natural cycle – sometimes slow, sometimes fierce, always honoring your full story.

The Alchemy of 3

We work in a loving cohort to provide excellent birth support services, walking alongside women to deeply honor this rite of passage and ensure a birth experience that reflects their individual needs.

Each of us has followed our own unique pathways to birth, which have brought us together as this beautiful team! We discovered our incredible intersections in our practices: we all tend to those navigating significant transitional spaces and share a profound passion for holistic doula care and women's health services.

The benefit of our collaboration is that you have access to a diverse team with expertise in Naturopathy, Acupuncture, and Herbalism, creating a broad spectrum of knowledge that encompasses medical, western, eastern, and traditional practices. You can also count on reliable backup support if anything happens to the primary doula, and a refreshed new doula is always available should your birth journey extend longer than expected.

What we offer is a comprehensive range of care, from prenatal to birth, postpartum, abortion, grief and loss, all while working in a flexible and cyclical manner that respects the complexities and nuances of life.

Finding the right relationship for Birth

Is this the right type of support for you

Every woman that gives birth experiences it in her own unique way. The birth support services offered by the Motherwort Doulas may resonate with you if you are seeking:

• A calm, grounded presence during pregnancy and birth

• Care that honors the body’s natural intelligence and women's intuition

• A broad spectrum of holistic doula care covering medical, western, eastern, and traditional approaches

• A team who values slow, attentive care for mother, baby, and partner

• A deeper understanding that birth is not just a single moment, but part of a much larger cycle that encompasses women's health services.

Birth is a Sacred Threshold

Birth is not something to be managed or controlled; it is a natural, intelligent process that unfolds when a woman feels safe, supported, and respected. Our role as providers of birth support services and holistic doula care is to help create the conditions necessary for this to happen — offering steady presence, practical support, sovereign choice, and deep trust in the body’s innate wisdom. This work has been shaped by many years of walking alongside women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, alongside a lifelong relationship with plants and various approaches that share similar values with women's health services. These experiences have taught us that birth is not solely about bringing a baby into the world; it also encompasses supporting the transformation of a woman, a family, and a community. Each birth is unique. Our intention is to meet families where they are, honor their choices, and help create a space where the rhythms of birth can unfold naturally. Families who resonate with this work often recognize that birth is not merely a medical event but a profound life passage that deserves reverence and support. When women feel held and supported in this manner, birth transcends an event; it becomes a powerful foundation for the health and well-being of the mother, the child, and the generations that follow.

Traditional Womb Care | Full Spectrum Doula | Herbalist Doula Match Profile I have been gifted the profound privilege of offering birth support services to women and families as they journey through birth for over two decades. Each birth is a universe unto itself—wild, wise, and wholly unique. Each woman acts as a teacher, and each threshold serves as an invitation to remember. I am here in service—to women, to the plants, to life’s deep mysteries, and to sovereignty and wholeness. I honour the lineage of women’s traditional work in birth tending, deeply rooted in sacred partnership with Earth and Spirit. I walk this path as an “Auntie,” holding vigil at the gateway where spirit meets form. My work weaves devotion and deep listening, acting as a steward of the liminal—where the veil thins and ancestral wisdom comes alive. Grounded in the wise woman tradition, I walk in reverence of each Mama as a leader, rekindling our deepest knowing. My unique offerings include holistic doula care such as placenta medicines, traditional womb massage, and plant wraps, forming a bridge between preparation, birth, and postpartum with reverence, ritual, and a deep commitment to the body's innate intelligence. Credentials + Lineage of Learning DONA 2005 Full Spectrum Doula Certification 20 years+ as a Birth Doula 3 Herbal Diplomas (Master Herbalist, Holistic Practitioner, Herbal Therapist) Traditional Womb Care Practitioner (Lineages: Quechue & Kichwa Nations) Eco-Sensual Practitioner (holistic herbalism + trauma-informed advocacy for survivors) Mama to Kale (now a young adult), Faery godmother to many littles, and Bee Mama with 2 hives. A love note to Birth: Thank you for being my greatest teacher. For showing me the way of surrender, the path of the heart, and the sacred humility that comes with not knowing. Thank you for being the space where awe lives, where rewilding begins, and where the ancient mysteries awaken—the embodied feminine rises to meet the wild call, and the quiet hum of our own sacred knowing lights the candle in the dark. Thank you for your wild truths and fierce tenderness.

Doctor of Acupuncture | Facilitator | Doula More about Erin Doula Match Profile The deep desire to be a part of birth support services had been calling to me for almost 20 years, but I knew I wasn’t ready. Then in February 2022, I sat at the other side of the gate, holding my own mother’s hand as she passed away. That summer, the ask came—a request from two cherished friends asking if I would provide holistic doula care during their birth. I realized I wanted to learn in the old way. While I certified with Doula Canada, my true training was a profound and loving birth mentorship with Treeka. We transformed this mentorship into art, asking ourselves how it could look if we were radically honest and followed our hearts. We aimed for a process so deeply in integrity that everyone involved was nourished by the work we were doing. Now, I am part of an incredible team with Carleigh, where I hold and witness people bringing new life into the world along with their partners, with sacred reverence, radical acceptance, loving tending, and fierce pro-choice advocacy. As a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) and a holistic doula care provider specializing in birth support services, I have the privilege of holding space for my patients and their families during some of life’s most significant transitions. From preconception care and fertility challenges to navigating loss and rediscovering joy in the postpartum period, I offer a unique model of care and comprehensive support that families truly need. Navigating the medical system with goals focused on fertility, pregnancy, abortion, or postpartum can often reveal the gaps in conventional women's health services. By combining naturopathic therapies with doula support, I offer the emotional and hands-on assistance that many find lacking in standard medical practices. My medical training allows me to connect the clinical and doula birth worlds more effectively, ensuring informed consent and advocacy for my patients’ preferences and goals, especially in hospital environments. I strongly believe that to foster healthy communities and families, we must support healthy mothers—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I am here to support you and all the versions of yourself that emerge throughout this wild journey of life.
