How Floating Works...
The density of the salt water puts the floater in an environment where about 80% of the gravity we usually feel is no longer affecting the body due to the 1000lbs of Epsom Salts in the water.
We use a large portion of our mental and physical resources counteracting the force of gravity and the relief of this effort leaves our body with a surplus of energy and processing power at its disposal. Without this “gravity tax” our body focuses its energies on resting, recuperating and healing anything that needs attention and gives space for self exploration in the mind and heart.
Floating is an environment that reduces sensory input and stress to the body (reduced gravity, no lights, no sound, water is at body temperature) and enhances self awareness, connection, and healing.
We harmonize the float environment to our own personal frequency, so the information we receive is from our heart and ourselves.
There is a direct dynamic connection between the heart and our brainwaves. While floating, we can enter a similar state to meditation, flow state, shamanic journeying that occurs with theta brainwaves.
This is the brainwaves where we have access to the full spectrum of possibilities, it's limitless and unedited. It's the space of our dreams and secret asks to the universe. It is a direct understanding of what we are choosing to call in, what we want to It is a space of honoring where we are at with perspective through a purer lens ...this is the coherence of the heart.

Creating a symbiotic partnership with your float space, will take you deeper into your relationship to your experience. Fostering care and respect for the float environment can be part of the gateway to self and the art of floating.
There is a great opportunity to be present to your float session with intention...allow yourself to step into your own universe and surrender.
One of our favorite techniques is to consciously "open" and "close" your space. This is a ritual of intentionally opening to your experience and stepping into the sensation of the present moment.
It is creating an environment for exploration that differs from everyday routine. This could be with a thought, an intention on the board, using the intentional salt, a shower routine, etc.
At the end of your float it is important to "close" your session by energetically bringing all your pieces back to you, integrating your float bring yourself back by deeply breathing and coming into your present moment with mindfulness.

After a decade of running a float studio, I’ve witnessed A LOT of floats and what makes a profound environment for healing and connection. With just over 10,000 hosted floats and humbly over 10,000 personal minutes in the float tank, my desire to hold a pure experience in a way the supports the spaciousness for the experience to unfold with you
Floating found me a decade ago when float tanks were still very much underground. My first float was that moment where life as I once knew it, would never be the same. I quit my career I loved of over 20 years in the Sport industy to follow the not-so-subtle call of the float tank and the awe inspiring landscape of self discovery. Fueled by raw passion and a few incredible humans on the same path, we started up an international not-for-profit to support the emerging community across the globe and to way-find, in collaboration, the rebirth of floatation therapy in 2013...above ground. This lead to the birth of One Love Float, the predecessor to The Forrest.
